The Jooki is a Kid-friendly Audio Streaming Speaker

MuuseLabs, a kid-focused consumer electronics company, has launched the Jooki Kids Music & Story Player, a screenless Wi-Fi streaming speaker designed for children. According to the company, the idea for the new device was inspired by '80s-era cassette tapes.

The new speaker features patented NFC ToyTouch Technology that allows kids to operate the device on their own by using reprogrammable Jooki tokens and figurines, which function as a remote control. Kids can use these tokens and figurines to start, stop, and change playlists, which can be set up by their parents via the Jooki app.

The idea is that using physical tokens and figurines will keep children away from screens -- an increasing priority for parents -- while still allowing them to engage with streaming technology.
