While big names like Starbucks and McCafe battle it out to win over consumers for "favourite coffee," a huge number of people are surpassing chains entirely, heading to unique coffeehouses, local coffee shops, independent cafes and ‘authentic’ espresso bars.

This cluster looks at some of the more unique coffeehouses, coffee shops, cafes and espresso bars featured on Trend Hunter. To be fair, we’ve also thrown in mentionable innovations from bigger chains making an effort to spice up their joe and the way they serve it.
