The May 2025 design round-up spotlights uniquely exquisite, highly sustainable, and impressively practical object collections, furniture, installations, and partnerships.

Samsonite captures attention in the May 2025 design list due to its newly engineered and incredibly eco-conscious luggage collections. The ESSENS™ Circular and PROXIS™ Circular lines rely on recycled polymers and luggage components, as well as bio-circular materials derived from used cooking oil. Elsewhere, Alessi's Il Tornitore Matto Project is a show-stopper. Running during Milan Design Week, the exhibition displayed a series of imaginative and design-forward funerary urn collections.

The May 2025 design round-up also calls attention to the new Artist-in-Residence at the historic Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. Vancouver-based artist Alex Morrison will foocus on the distinctive pagoda-style rooftops and woork to merge these architectural sensibilities with the Glenfiddich's brand identity — a venture that will likely translate in some intricated textiles, wallpaper or packaging.
