It's no secret that Seth McFarlane's empire has grown out of various Family Guy creations. This rise to massive show-running success did not come easy to McFarlane, who suffered the indignity of a canceled show after Family Guy's third season in 2001. In its absence, the show developed a cult following and stunned the industry and Fox execs alike with remarkable DVD sales and high ratings for reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
Since its return, Seth McFarlane has leveraged the show into several Family Guy creations that have made the show an incredible cash cow.
