Let’s face it: From we are born into this world until we die, we are fixated with our mouths and the oral pleasures it brings us, from one oral phase on to the next.
There is nothing like licking a lollipop when you are five, on to sucking a freshly-made soft ice on a hot summer day when you are eight. Later, we become obsessed with lips and lipstick and kissing the boys.
Then a little later we start using our tongues too. We get lippy and start to speak our mind and talk about our grand ideas. And if we are really radical, we have our tongue pierced or tattooed.
Oh, and did I mention that we love stuffing our faces with food and drink whenever we get the chance? Now that has to be one of our favorite oral pleasures, although I am sure someone might disagree.
