Xenith, founded by by Vincent Ferrara - a former Harvard quarterback, has redesigned its helmets by replacing the traditional foam with a “shock bonnet,” an adjustable cap covering 18 hollow thermoplastic urethane hockey-puck-shaped shock absorbers with tiny holes that allow air to tide in and out, controlling the way force is handled on impact.
