Human-Curated Content Recommendations

Channel 4's Un-algorithmy algorithm Offers Fresh Suggestions

Streaming algorithms can suggest content viewers enjoy, but when they miss the mark, people long for genuine recommendations from real humans—and this is precisely what prompted Channel 4 to launch the Un-algorithmy algorithm.

There's now a dedicated section on Channel 4's streaming app and website where viewers can go for recommendations and content collections created exclusively by humans, for humans. Some of the human-curated collections that are waiting to be discovered include A Load of Rubbish (Rubbish Tip Britain: Dispatches, Scrapheap Challenge) or Pilot Episodes (Top Guns: Inside the RAF, Royal Flying Doctors.)

This new way to discover content on Channel 4 promises an entertaining experience in itself—Landy Slattery, creative innovation director of 4creative, Channel 4’s award-winning in-house agency, says "The Un-algorithmy algorithm is unashamedly unhinged compared to all the usual streaming experiences."
