 Robert DeNiro Opens Nobu in Middle East Robert DeNiro and celebuchef Nobu Matsuhisa have picked an oasis in Dubai for their latest attempt to dominate the luxury food business. Set in The Palm on the grounds of Atlantis, Matsuhisha uses the local fish for his classic sushi dishes. But it’s Nobu’s design that may ultimately steal the show. Hand woven abaca panels are made to resemble the ocean waves nearby, and hand-wrought iron columns of flora complement a giant laser cut screen of cherry blossoms.  World-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa continues to redefine Japanese cuisine in a contemporary space that mixes traditional and modern Japanese elements. At Atlantis, Nobu infuses his cutting edge style with Arabian influences to create a distinctly urban experience. Incorporating Nobu’s signature dishes as well as new surprises, the menu is complemented by a sushi bar and sake lounge.
