Sex and violence are popular methods to catch attention in advertising. But you can make other sorts of controversial ads, like this ad for Siminn, an Icelandic phone company. They are changing history. And the history they chose to change, is Jesus’ last supper.

The ad was chosen the best ad of the year in Iceland last weekend and when recieving the awards, special thanks were given to the Icelandic bishop for “encouraging discussion”. Being controversial and debated surely helps the word-of-mouth marketing. I guess religious believes have alot to do with how controversial you will find the ad. The script writer and the actor playing Judas, Jón Gnarr, is a well known comedian in Iceland. Less known is the fact that he is one of the few catholics in Iceland. So how does 3G change the course of history? Let’s check the video:
