Directed by Peter Jackson -- the man who directed all three of the Lord of the Rings films -- "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' trailer brings forth the first moving images of the adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's novel 'The Hobbit,' the prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The film stars Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and the rest of the cast is rounded out by recognizable film veterans like Sir Ian McKellan, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, and Andy Serkis. 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' will not be in theatres until December 2012, but this trailer will whet the appetite of the series' fans.
