LED manufacturer Ledvance recently introduced the Sylvania Smart+ Soft White A19 filament bulb as the first of its kind that is fully compatible with the Apple HomeKit.
The HomeKit was introduced by Apple as a means of bringing a consumer's smart devices together in a single, connected system. After screwing in a Sylvania Smart+ light bulb, consumers will be able to control the bulb with Bluetooth technology by voicing commands to Apple's smart assistant Siri, as well as interacting with the Apple Home app.
Unlike many smart bulbs for the home that require special sockets, hubs and WiFi routers, this one's compatibility with the Apple HomeKit has the potential to simplify one's actions throughout the home.
