Prestige Blended Scotch

Johnnie Walker Vault Blends Brora Casks From Before and After Shutdown

Diageo is expanding Johnnie Walker Vault with its first standing prestige release, a blended Scotch that offers drinkers Brora from both before and after the distillery's shutdown and return. The whisky includes one Brora spirit laid down before the Highlands site went silent in 1983 and another from casks filled after production resumed in 2021, along with rare stock from ghost distilleries and malts not previously used in a blend.

Bottled at 43.8% ABV, it opens with butterscotch and salted caramel before moving into fruit and oak notes. The bottle costs £1,100 and is sold at London's Harrods, at the Edinburgh Johnnie Walker Experience, and online through Justerinis.

At £1,100 and with access limited to a small set of outlets, Johnnie Walker Vault positions this permanent release as a tightly curated luxury channel rather than a wider shelf item. The Brora split between pre-1983 and post-2021 casks also gives Diageo a clear way to distinguish this line from standard prestige blends.
