Multi-Cultural Fashion Fusion

Tao Fall 2009 Celebrated Folkloric Patterns and Dirndl Skirts

Tao Kurihara put eccentric fashion into overdrive for his Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear collection; that’s right, this collection was designed to be worn as is.

The multicultural fusion fashion included pieces that looked as though they had their roots spread across the globe, dipping into Scandinavia, Russia, Turkey and Mexico.

“Backstage, the Rei Kawakubo disciple first cited cake decorations, but then revealed it was Eastern Europe that captured her interest,” Style.com reveals. “The former explains the frothy silhouettes of her baby-doll dresses, quilted jackets, and dirndl skirts, as well as the ribbonlike prints and embroideries.”

The Tao Fall 2009 collection is the perfect sartorial smorgasbord for the culture-loving, brazenly bold fashion connoisseur with confidence.
