Ritter Sport is adding full-size chocolate blocks to the meal deal fixture, offering shoppers a larger option than the smaller singles that typically fill the slot. The brand is placing its 100-gram squares in Tesco and Asda Express stores, with ‘Coconut,’ ‘Butter Biscuit’ and ‘Cornflakes’ variants.
The rollout covers 453 Tesco main estate stores starting in October and 190 Asda Express stores starting in November. That adds 643 locations and gives the brand another route into everyday food-to-go purchases, where the block format can stand out alongside a sandwich and drink.
At 100 grams, the chocolate makes a meal deal a more substantial confectionery choice and helps the fixture work harder for the brand. It also broadens shoppers' expectations for a lunchtime add-on, shifting the aisle away from bite-size treats alone.
