Madonna is not new to causing controversy. Even after recently celebrating her 50th birthday, Madonna still knows how to push buttons and get people worked up. This time it’s her choice of shoes that has the MAMAA (Mothers Against Murder And Aggression) all fired up. So what’s so special about these shoes? Well, Madonna wore a pair of killer Chanel shoes with the heels in shape of a gun to the New York screening of her directorial debut, ‘Filth And Wisdom’. Dubbed as the ‘Miami Vice’ shoe, the unusual footwear was debuted recently on the Chanel catwalk. The special edition first pairs are made of real gun casings, which are painted silver, black, and gold. However, the mainstream designs, which will be sold in Chanel boutiques, are made of Plexiglas. “I am horrified that Madonna can see these shoes as fashion,” Lyn Costello, from MAMAA told Metro. “As a mother herself I would have thought that she would have paused for a second and thought about all the young people here and in her own country that have died because of gun crime.” “It’s uncaring. Surely she reads the news and realises that young people are dying every day.” What do I think? Relax, it’s artistic fashion. These MAMAA people just want free publicity.
