Men Banned From Selling Lingerie in Sharjah, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait 4,020 Views - Click for Larger Image
Ultra-conservative countries have passed new laws barring men from working in lingerie shops. Only women can be hired as salespersons and shops who fail to comply are being shut down.
Shopkeepers are having difficulty complying with this law because they are hard-pressed to find women who are willing to work in lingerie shops, due to the extreme conservatism of their culture.
The conservative country of Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates has passed a new rule related to the sale of lingerie. The new law prohibits men from selling lingerie in shops. All the lingerie outlets have been instructed to employ only women salespersons for the job.
During the campaign in the Muslim dominated country, which was held, earlier this month, 40 shops were found breaching the new lingerie law and 10 outlets were forced to shut down. There are similar rules for Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, however, shopkeepers complain that it is difficult to find women salesmen for the job in such a conservative atmosphere.
