Limited-Stock Foldable Phones

Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Duo Launches With Limited Day-One Stor

Apple’s first foldable phone is reaching buyers with a tight Day 1 supply, giving some shoppers a chance to leave with an iPhone Duo instead of waiting for the January 22 ship date. The device goes on sale today, and Apple is routing available units to stores rather than only to online orders.

Select Apple Stores in markets including the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom will have limited walk-in stock, while several other countries will not. Carrier shops may also carry units for customers willing to sign a contract, which adds another route to same-day ownership.

Limited in-store availability makes the launch as much about retail timing as hardware. It also turns the iPhone Duo into a test of how much demand can be absorbed through physical stores when online delivery stretches into next year.
