The Kirsten Dunst Vogue Italia February 2012 shoot is a whimsical and fantastical adventure reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. The tiny blonde bombshell is fresh off a successful year after receiving rave reviews for her lead role in the overwhelmingly beautiful film Melancholia by Lars von Triers.

Alternating between the softly sunlit forest of towering brown trunks and mossy floors, the actress also poses on a fiery beach in the effortlessly cool manner she is known for. Clad in platform sandals and the best floral prints of the season, Dunst seems to invite the same melancholic persona as her character’s in the film, a role given a special authenticated by her personal struggle with depression.
