10 Fuel-Aware Social Businesses

From Car Pool Dating Services to Healthier Cooking Instruments

From car pool dating services to healthier cooking instruments, these fuel-aware social businesses pay attention to the "planet" part of the triple bottom line, that is, people, planet and profit.

There are two that stand out due to an a seemingly eccentric idea that maybe brings people to the brand just for that -- and not because of whatever cause may be up front and center. Carpooling.com is a dating service operating in Europe that makes matchs through the guise of lowering CO2 emissions. Another fuel-aware dating service is also Alaskan Brewing Co., which in January of this year, made the switch to power its brewing systems in part by beer in an effort to cut its fuel costs. Other of the examples seem less eccentric perhaps.
