Fantastical Baby Cafes

Japan Coffee House for Parents and Children Plays on Proportions

The Baby Cafe in Aoyama, Tokyo, is a place where parents and children can enjoy a nice day together without the often crowded or inappropriate environments of other cafes.

Designed by Japan designers Nendo, the Baby Cafe offers books, toys, a playroom and even areas for nursing and changing diapers. According to Dezeen, because the Baby Cafe is to be enjoyed by different "sizes of users"--meaning the parents and children--the interior design plays on scale and proportion: big and small windows placed together, varying sizes of floorboards, and enormous sofas that function as kids' play areas.
