Dometic has expanded its portable cooling lineup with the CFX5 Series, an electric cooler the brand describes as its most advanced to date and the first of its electric coolers to use Vacuum Insulated Panels. The CFX5 combines those panels, which reduce thermal transfer while cutting weight and bulk, with the company’s VMSO 3.5 compressor, a temperature range stretching from -7°F to 68°F, dual-zone cooling on select models, and app-based control via Bluetooth.
By eliminating ice entirely, the CFX5 electric cooler devotes its full interior volume to food and drinks, and the vacuum insulation supports that by shrinking the exterior footprint without sacrificing cold retention. The wide temperature range and powerful compressor allow the unit to function as both a fridge and a freezer, so travelers can keep oysters fresh, beer cold, and ice cream frozen on the same trip.
