Dupont Gen 3 Technology Breaks Cost and Production Barriers

DuPont Gen 3 printed organic light emitting diode manufacturing technology will allow OLED displays to be made more cheaply. Current OLED displays are made using expensive evaporative materials. DuPont’s new process prints the OLED materials, making manufacturing cheaper and faster.

Because OLEDs don’t need backlighting or color filtering to produce high-quality images, energy use and production costs are much reduced, the DuPont Gen 3 technology is helping Samsung and LG to bring large screen OLED TVs to the market more quickly than previously anticipated.
