Moving to a new city usually means trying out a variety of unfamiliar restaurants and bars, which can be an incredibly fun experience or an absolute disaster if you pick the wrong place -- which is exactly what the DineSafe app aims to help you avoid. Created for the iPhone and Android by HackLab, the free application is a mobile version of the City of Toronto's DineSafe website, which gives the public access to all information regarding which restaurants have passed (or failed) health inspections.
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I'd like to avoid a bad food experience at all costs, and the DineSafe app makes it incredibly easy to do so. Not only does the application allow users to search for their fave food joints, it also uses your location to show the reports for restaurants and bars surrounding your area. Never again will you have to call in sick after a mediocre meal with Toronto's DineSafe app.
