Sometimes scandals can prove profitable or extremely profitable in this case. Picasso's painting of his mistress cost him his marriage but if he were alive today he would be smiling all the way to the bank. This rendering of his teenage mistress is expected to fetch north of $24 million dollars. On sale in London the painting contains much controversy as he choose to paint the woman which would later on prove to be the sole piece of evidence the artist's wife needed to end the relationship with her husband. Anything involving scandal will receive notoriety but in this case there are pros & cons but ultimately life did in fact inspire art. While Picasso provides a beautiful piece it's bittersweet knowing that the inspiration came from him cheating on his wife.
