The Bend Sofa Forgoes the Traditional, Static Furniture Form

Although the Bend Sofa definitely looks like a couch, its subtle curvaceous design steps away from the tradition and typical furniture form thrust upon such seating. This wide couch looks as if it has been molded by hand using malleable materials, as though created by a sculptor.

Designed by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia, the Bend Sofa actually takes inspiration from a newer form of art and design. Influenced by 3-D models and digital renderings, it looks as though it has been designed using a computer program, especially when you look upon the Bend Sofa's gridlike pattern. Coupled with its wavy sides, there is a subtle sense of movement, like a rippling body of water.

The Bend Sofa is also conveniently modular. Stats for Subtly Curved Couches Trending: Older & Chilly
