The Andy Jones Series is a Chilly Taste of Realism

The Andy Jones series ‘Norwegian Streets’ takes realism to the extreme.

Andy Jones is a 23-year-old photographer based in Leeds, UK. The artist works on exposing his natural environment, and focuses on the abstract within the normative, looking for more complex characteristics in everyday life. In this series, Jones scoured the streets of Oslo capturing obscure details of the city. Some particular gems include graffiti reading “Nazis f**k off!,” “Thug Life,” and “Harley Davidson.” It’s an interesting perspective on the wide reach of American pop culture.

Andy Jones is a humble artist. His site reads, “Don’t expect to see photos of flowers and people holding hands, I’m just not that kind of guy.” While his photos may not have a romantic plot behind them, they are rich with technique and demonstrate Jones’ talent.
