Velo3D, the metal additive manufacturing company, reported a stronger quarter as it expanded production and increased Rapid Production Solutions capacity to serve aerospace and defense customers. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 rose 52.3% to $20.7 million, while the company returned to a positive gross margin of 21.5%, helped by higher average selling prices and a favorable product mix.
Printer and parts revenue climbed 57% to $19 million, while new orders reached $29 million and backlog ended the quarter at $31 million. Velo3D also added cash through equity offerings and reduced debt, while announcing a new Livermore production campus expected to triple manufacturing capacity and support RPS parts production. Repeat Sapphire XC orders and new partnerships further underscored industrial demand.
For customers, the shift toward greater RPS output means expanded access to finished metal parts without requiring direct printer ownership, supporting broader adoption of outsourced additive manufacturing.
