The Woven Portico by Nicolas Feldmeyer is on display at the main building at the University of College in London, England. Nicolas Feldmeyer a London-based artist who was commissioned to create a display that combines opposite materials while creating new spaces. Feldmeyer weaved long pieces of semitransparent and sheer fabrics that cover the facade of the building.
His focus for this project was on the different shadows and lights that flow through the fabric. This project appears to have a minimal and simple design, but intertwining the mesh between the columns of such a large structure is a quite the difficult task.
Nicolas Feldmeyer has created a beautifully woven display, and it will be exhibited at the university until June 15, 2012.
