This Pop Up Book Explains the Water Life Cycle

This animated stop-motion short film illustrates the water life cycle in a visually appealing way that took over a year to create. The name of the project is Revolution and is made up of photography by Chris Turner, paper engineering by Helen Friel and animation by Jess Deacon.

Revolution follows one single water drop through the many cycles (both man made and natural) it goes through. The book has nine scenes, which were transformed into 1,000 photo stills over a year of shooting.

This project may seem simple at first glance, but is actually extremely intricate. Notice in the video how the camera angle actually shifts for every scene. This means that not only does this project involve moving cameras, but also moving pieces of the actual book.
