Virtual Dress-Up Contests

Steve Jobs as Elton John, Biker Dude or Hippie

Geekculture.com recently held a Steve Jobs dress-up contest in which the winners received a book and a propeller beanie cap. Although the contest is over, the actual Steve Jobs dress-up application is still available. The numerous dress up options include hippie clothes, biker wear, flashy Elton John-esque ensembles, and much more.

Implications - Parodies of pop cultural figures have traditionally been released via magazines and TV. With the Internet readily available, however, the ridicule of celebs has transitioned to the web. Photoshop and applications have influenced individuals to create their own parodies instead of relying on the media. It's likely that this will continue down the road as more programs and applications develop to make it easier.
