Now that you’ve feasted on your Thanksgiving meal, being left with all the dishes and cutlery to figure out can be enough to drive you nuts. So take a look at these cutlery-inspired art and design concepts and maybe the madness will subside.
Knives, forks and spoons are the staple eating tools of most western meals, but due to their unique shapes, they offer artists a great challenge as art materials. Here, one can see several cutlery-inspired jewelry pieces, from bracelets made of fork heads to knife earrings. The metal nature of most cutlery makes jewelry a natural adaptation.
Even home design items are derived from cutlery, as we see with the spoon chandelier, the fork chair and the cutlery book stand. There’s even a cutlery iPhone holder, but that doesn’t mean you can have your phone at the table for next year’s Thanksgiving meal.
