‘The Story Beyond the Still' Contest by Canon & Vimeo Looks for

There's nothing hotter than crowdsourcing at the moment, and 'The Story Beyond the Still,' a user-generated HD video contest put on by Canon and Vimeo, aims to capitalize on this phenomenon for creative geniuses.

Vincent Laforet has kicked off the contest with a short film to premiere on January 7, 2010. The video above is the teaser for 'The Story Beyond the Still.' The eight-month contest will begin January 15, 2010.

Implications - Vincent Laforet explains that Canon asked him to make a film that interprets what he sees "beyond the still." The film had to be shot with the new Canon EOS 7D to be considered for the contest. Laforet says that the featured short film will be one out of seven.
