Austronaut Song Collaborations

Barenaked Ladies & Chris Hadfield Create Earth to Space Music

Astronaut Chris Hadfield, way up in the International Space Station, performs his song 'Is Somebody Singing' (a play on the I.S.S acronym) along with the Barenaked Ladies, creating the first ever Earth and space song collaboration.

A choir of students accompanies them as one plays in his spacecraft with a view of the entire world outside of his window, while the other stands on Earth and is subject to gravity, seeing each other through a screen. The song has a thoughtful tone, describing what it feels like to see the entire planet and be so far away from home, wondering what is happening down on Earth.

This Earth and space song collaboration will pique more interest in NASA's activities in space and on the I.S.S.
