Students at the Miami Ad School in Brooklyn have created the Lonely Planet Friends for Friends app, which helps you locate friends who may be living in the place you're visiting. What's unique about the app, however, is that if none of your Facebook friends are in that particular place, the app will search through your friend's friends to find someone. This is an app that is definitely helpful if you need someone to give you advice on local hotspots and sights, or if you're just looking for a temporary companion.
