American Coffee Capital Isn't Seattle

Chicago Is Most Caffeinated City

A survey says that the most caffeinated city in America is Chicago. Surprised? Don't drop your cup just yet. Of course coffee capital Seattle still rules the roost, based on sheer number of americanos consumed.

However the HealthSaver 2007 Caffeinated Cities Survey measures caffeine habits and attitudes of consumers in the US, no matter what the source is: coffee, chocolate, tea, sodas, energy drinks, and caffeine pills. The survey also gauges cultural views and health benefits of the beverage.

Rounding out the top five after Chicago are Tampa, Miami, Phoenix, and Atlanta. Interestingly, among the least caffeinated cities are San Francisco, Philadelphia, and New York.
