'The Story of Us: Five Years Ago Today' Details Obama's Success

The Obama Campaign has hired Boing Boing collaborator and video director Joe Sabia to promote the U.S. president via YouTube videos, with the first of Sabia’s creations being 'The Story of Us: Five Years Ago Today.'

The video highlights flattering episodes of Obama’s rise to power and presidency, very much in the hope and spirit of the 2008 campaign. However, it’s not 2008 anymore, and judging by the Boing Boing community’s initial reaction, some people are feeling less than hopeful.

One commenter writes on the Boing Boing website, “Quite a moving video. I can’t decide which was my favorite part, when he legalized indefinite detention of American citizens, or when he announced Biden as running mate.”  Another states, “They had to use all that campaign footage because that’s the last time he went out of his way for us.”

The YouTube reception was decidedly more sympathetic. Statements such as, “Four more years!” and “I love Obama!” engross the comments section with unambiguous pro-Obama sentiment.

The Story of Us: Five Years Ago Today pushes for Obama to remain in the White House.
