Clarion Hotel Introduces New Wireless Technology Locking System

Cellphone room keys may soon replace traditional keys in hotels, starting with the Clarion Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. Although the hotel has to distribute its own phones with preloaded security software, they are hoping that in the near future, guests will be able to use their own cellular devices.

Using Near Field Communication technology by TeliaSonera, Clarion Hotel and lock maker Assa Abloy have collaborated on these cellphone room keys. Before we know it, our cellphones will be able to do anything and everything!
