Tweeting Toddlers

Twoddler Toy Mods Classic Activity Centers to Let Tots Tweet

A team in Belgium must have thought babies are Twitter-deprived, because they have found a way to get Toddlers in on the tweeting action, through Twoddler, a prototype toy. Basically, the Inventors took the Fisher Price Activity Center that babies have played with since the 70s, and modified it to add the social networking site Twitter.

According to the design team at Hasselt University, “the software captures sensor data from the activity center and tries to select a predefined text that is related to that sensor data. We are extending the system so it becomes easier to relate certain patterns of sensor readings with a set of strings.”

In other words, the Twoddler reads your toddler’s mind and tweets it. Creepy? Maybe. But certainly interesting.
