The first ever charity Twitter name auction is underway. Twitter user Drew Olanoff (@Drew) placed his Twitter name on the block with all of the proceeds going to the Livestrong Foundation after having been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
A four-letter Twitter name is very rare and that equates to a great opportunity for cancer research. Comedian Drew Carey (@Drewfromtv) was first out the gate with a whopping 10k bid that has now been increased to $1 million if he manages to get one million followers by year end.
With a few other famous Drews out there, this may morph into one of the most attention-worthy Twitter races yet. Let the bidding war begin!
