Seems that Ellen Degeneres really enjoyed her stint on 'Idol Gives Back,' because she’s set to join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the 'American Idol' judging panel on a more permanent basis. Not only did Degeneres' love of music make her the perfect candidate to replace Paula Abdul, but her charisma and unique insight will definitely add to Idol’s already staggering ratings.
Ellen Degeneres announced the new gig on her own talk show, telling the audience, “We’ve been dealing with this for the last couple of weeks and I’ve been dying to tell everyone. It’s just been so hard to keep it a secret and we just finally got the okay and I’m so excited. It is going to be so much fun.”
I haven’t tuned in to 'American Idol' for some time, but now that Ellen Degeneres has joined the team, I know she’ll reel me in again.
