Juxtaposing high-price fashion and homelessness, W Magazine opts for an editorial spread that has models dressed to the nines in luxury-branded shopping bags amidst dingy alleyways and garbage cans.

AdBusters claims that “destitution has never looked so glamorous” in these ads and is one of the problems with advertising today. According to AdBusters, these images create a sort of “culture jam –- an effort to subvert the advertising -– than advertising itself.”

Implications - What I particularly like about the W Magazine ad is that it brings together two things that are normally very far apart from each other. The rough-around-the-edges homeless aesthetic may get big after more people see this collection; you can remain ahead of the curb by checking out these pics.
