Virtual Sobriety Checkers

'Walk the Line' iPhone App Uses the Accelerometer Wisely

Grolsch is as pleased as spiked punch to present “Walk the Line”. The iPhone app, launched at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, was created by Marvellous as a playful sobriety test. Using the phone’s motion-sensing accelerometer, the game judges the user’s ability to walk a straight line.

We love the ingenuity of this app, even if it sends a somewhat mixed message. Here’s a tip: if you need to use an app to test your ability to walk straight, you’re probably too drunk to drive. Maybe this game is better suited to judge which one of us has to get the next round. Either way, it looks like fun.

Please play responsibly.
