24 Outrageously Expensive Everyday Items

Bringing Luxury to Regular Things

A diamond encrusted watch? OK, I think can understand why someone would want that. But luxury instant noodles? Designer garbage bags? What?!

From toiletries to doorstops to staples, companies are turning everyday items into ultra-expensive luxury items. Apparently some rich people have nothing better to spend their money on than gold-plated toilet paper boxes and designer ice cubes! Ice cubes! I just don't know anymore.

Implications - Items that are seen as expensive appeal to consumers who do not desire to purchase less expensive alternatives. These consumers want the best of the best and therefore are willing to splurge on more in an effort to satisfy their needs. These consumers also thrive off of being able to boast their possession of these products to their friends to help boost social standing.
