These luxury designer tampons by Andrea Mettler push the boundaries of taboo in their design. They certainly add an attractive twist to an item that is usually assessed for its functionality rather than its appearance. Mettler’s venture into relatively uncharted design territory has made the item look more like an object of pleasure than an item of necessity. Will it soon be appropriate to wrap these tampons up with a pink ribbon and give them as gifts to girlfriends? As if making decisions at that time of the month wasn’t difficult enough, now we might end up with a new range of super-luxe menstrual accessories to choose between.
