Blumarine Warhol-Inspired Pastel Brights

Against the backdrop of Andy Warhol-esque portraits of designer Anna Molinari, the Blumarine collection for Fall 2009 was a pop art pageant.

Leopard prints, bright pastel primary solids and sixties-inspired multicolored prints--some of which were almost lost against the runway set--were cheery and optimistic. Jeans and leggings were teamed with tops and handbags emblazoned with the ‘Blumarine’ brand. The models, with hair pulled back tightly, wore studded gladiator sandals, animal print booties, chunky cuffs, and rings on every finger.

In the sea of drama and black fabric that we’ve witnessed in many fashion shows of late, the Blumarine collection stands out as positive and hopeful, confident and feminine.
