Violent Ad Campaigns

Mathias Vriens' Shocking Photography

“Sisley” is the name of a shocking ad campaign by Dutch fashion photographer Mathias Vriens.

The print campaign crosses the boundaries of accepted sexual norms and presents a picture where those norms are challenged and skewered as in image 2, where two incognito men hold hands.

Picture 3 also presents a very homoerotic image where two bare-chested men stand side by side.

In the 1st image, we see a woman manhandling a man and violently pulling his hair. It seems that this campaign also seems to praise violent behavior against men in an attempt to reverse the accepted roles of men perpetrating violence against women.
