Violence at the hands of teenage girls is on the increase and parents are doing little to stop it. Educators and law enforcement officials are very concerned about this growing trend. It seems that girls are leaning towards increasingly wild and destructive behaviour as a way to draw attention to themselves as risk takers and to get the approval of their peers. In addition, violent television programs, movies and the Internet show excessive violence as the norm and kids are watching and becoming desensitized to violence.
