Intentionally Breeding Deformities

‘Twisty Cats' Chosen for Inverted Elbows

Sometimes cats suffer from deformities which occur as an accident of nature, but some questionable breeders are now purposely breeding cats with deformities.

Twisty Cats are felines that are bred to have inverted elbows, a condition known as Radial Hypoplasia. Mildly affected cats get around okay, but in severe cases the cat will have entirely non-functioning front paws.

A website has been set up to make people aware of this issue and hopefully stop breeders from engaging in such cruelty.
