Canine Obesity Monitors

Fujitsu Launches a Cloud-Enabled Dog Obesity Collar in Japan

Dog ownership in Japan is on the rise, which is why Fujitsu released the world's first cloud service for monitoring dog obesity.

Losing a pet is a very unpleasant loss to go through, especially for children. To help increase mortality rates for dogs in Japan, the Fujitsu allows owners to track their dog's health and stay on top of their respiratory wellness.

The concept is quite simple. A doggy pedometer hangs from the dog's collar just as regular tags would. As the dog moves around and does what dogs do all day, the data is gathered and stored on a cloud service. The dog owner can then access the health info via their laptop or smartphone while on the go.

The Fujitsui dog obesity monitor records temperature changes, trembling, number of steps taken and the amount of food the dog has eaten.
