The Nikon Android-Powered Camera for CoolPix lineup has the WiFi capabilities of an Android and confirms speculation that Nikon is looking for more social media integration with their technology. The camera models that will be getting this bump up are expected to be available come September 2012.

Ranging in price from $199 to $499, Nikon has paved the way for a new platform to interact with modern technology and social media. With the social media bump, these cameras (meant for more amateur photographers) will be able to work with Instagram, upgrading the lo-fi app to something with higher resolution.
